Pre- HiSET
Theme-based units in HiSET content areas follow evidence-based reading practice. Pre-HiSET curriculum matches HiSET Class curriculum to provide continuity. Math class builds foundational skills in preparation for higher level math classes. |
HiSET
Applies same theme-based units at a more advanced level.
Lessons are focused on learning content and higher level skills --analyzing, predicting, inferring. Instruction is project-based; students conduct research, write essays, develop presentations. Themes for both classes include: The Solar System, The Constitution, Countries, Presidents, The Human Body, Digital Literacy, Health and Nutrition, and Earth Sciences. |
Fast Track
Students with high TABE scores engage in nine weeks of concentrated instruction at a high pace.
Students who attend this class are likely to have recently left high school and need to brush up on skills and learn test-taking strategies |
